In the GT class, the No. 70 SpeedSource Mazda and
drivers Jonathan Bomarito, Nick Ham, David Haskell and Sylvain Tremblay took
top honors and eighth overall by a four-lap margin over the No. 67 TRG/Flying
Lizards Porsche GT3 and drivers Jim Lowe, Eric Lux, Jim Pace, Tim Sugden and
James Walker. Tremblay started third in the No. 70, but wasn't able to stay up
front early.
In the motor
sports underdog story of the year, a team that made it’s first public
appearance in December 2009 has won the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Action
Express Racing defeated perennial favorites Brumos Porsche and Ganassi Racing,
with a well used Riley chassis running a bastardized privateer motor that began
life in a Porsche Cayenne. Since Porsche neither builds the motor nor sanctions
it for racing, they will not claim the win as a victory for Porsche.
Wilson
Manifolds has recently announced three stages of ported cast aluminum
intake upgrades and a new, trick, high-flow D-Shaped fuel rail for the Mitsubishi EVO.
Using
a factory cast intake manifold, Wilson provides a mild street stage and
two full-race stages—one designed for 8,000 rpm the other 9,500 rpm.
